The Utah Herald wrote a piece detailing the concerns of a retired nurse who believes there has been an unusually high number of cancer cases in her neighborhood. The article looks at various cancer experiences in the community, including one woman who cited her job and her coworkers as main sources of strength during her cancer battle. Joanne Candland is fighting cancer for the fourth time, “Candland attributes much of her cancer warrior success to her coworkers and the seniors who have watched her fight. ‘It helps me to come to work every day, because they are so special and so good to help me through this, and I have a good supportive family,’ Candland said.”
If you’re working through treatment, it helps to keep open lines of communication with supervisors and coworkers.
