She found help through Women Helping Women, which helps breast cancer patients overcome financial obstacles to treatment.
Explaining her work and treatment situation, the article explains "Six weeks after her surgery, Milanese began radiation and was having a hard time coordinating her care with her job, so she had to fit her Monday-through-Friday treatments into her daily routine without taking time off. 'I’d run over on my lunch hour and do my radiation and come back and forth,' "
