An inspiring article in the York Daily Record highlights the cancer journey of Holly Sands, a riding instructor and breast cancer survivor. Sands said that her community and continuing to work helped her survive. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, Sands underwent a partial mastectomy and radiation. Even while having ongoing treatment, she kept herself busy. "She would be out on the farm, tossing straw bales with her left arm or visiting her parents, Lois and David E. Grange, who live on and own the farm. 'I've just always been one to work,' she said. 'I think it helps me get through the tough things in life.'"
