In a letter to shareholders this week, Brian Goldner, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hasbro, one of the largest toy makers in the world, announced that he has been diagnosed with prostrate. Deciding whether to share such news at the office is a big decision for anyone, although it can have added ramifications for executives such as Goldner, whose company’s stock prices may be affected if investors become concerned about his ability to effectively run the multinational corporation. As WSJ reporter Maria Armental writes, Goldner not only assured shareholders that he will remain at his job full-time during treatment, he even prepared them for how side effects may change his appearance.
