The Marin Independent Journal recently wrote about an oncologist, Dr. Peter Eisenberg, who has been treating cancer patients for 36+ years and has returned to work after his own cancer experience. Eisenberg returned to work three weeks after his surgery. In the article, Eisenberg discusses what he learned from the experience (which was not his first diagnosis of cancer) and how important it is to have a doctor that is straightforward and reassuring.
