ABS-CBN News reports that Philippines Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago's cancer has regressed and she is recovering, with plans of a potential presidential run in the future. She is focusing on her health, but has been able to get back to some work on some law books scheduled to be released this year. In June, Santiago was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She is taking a medication that is an alternative treatment to chemotherapy. "In a statement, Santiago said: 'I have licked cancer, and I’m actually thinking of several career options. By 2016, I will be disqualified by law to seek another term as senator.'" Many survivors often explore various work options after their cancer experience.
