Singer-songwriter Anastacia recently spoke about how her second breast cancer diagnosis inspired her to start writing songs for her newest album right away, reports the Independent. She said that she's feeling great after a double mastectomy and explains how her cancer journey impacted her work: 

" 'I actually started writing right away, because I wanted to write something before I had surgery. When I had cancer before I didn't know how much it was going to slow me down, the radiotherapy. I just thought I'd be able to work through it, carry on writing, but that didn't work. This time I wanted to know before all the pain and surgery and scars and how I was going to be, that I'd written something first.' "
