Rob Griffiths - November 2014
The Daily Post recently wrote about Joe Thompson, a football midfielder who just signed a one-month loan deal at Wrexham after beating cancer. Thompson was diagnosed in November 2013 with nodular sclerosis Hodgkin lymphoma, a rare form of cancer, underwent chemo and is looking forward to continuing his football career. The article explains the tough recovery that Thompson went through to re-start his career after treatment:
"Five months on from receiving the all-clear, Thompson is ready to get not only his life but his career on track. It has been tough to regain his fitness, but after putting in the hours he says he is finally ready to reap the rewards. It may be a cliche, but Thompson is the epitome of ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’."
