Central Maine News shared the story of a photographer, Ron Simons, whose battle with prostate cancer and changes in the industry have led him to evolve his business model over the years. Simons was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2006 and underwent surgery and chemotherapy, continuing to take work throughout treatment. The downturn in the economy combined with his diagnosis took a toll on Simons business, but he persevered and is now offering a service to preserve old photos digitally.
