Joy Weiner was diagnosed with breast cancer more than 10 years ago and has beat the disease three times since then. Despite the side effects, she tried her best to “to keep up with life and work” reports The Citizen Bay Area. Weiner said that the effects from cancer treatment made life difficult, and that the "brain fog", often referred to as "chemo brain" went away in the months after her treatment ended.
February 2007 brought another breast cancer diagnosis — and another mastectomy. Still, writer Kristi Nix quotes Weiner as saying, “At the end of my recovery time around four weeks I felt well enough to get back to work.”
