Megan Reed, who has been a radio host in the Chicago area for 28 years, is taking time off of work for treatment for metastatic breast cancer. The metastatic breast cancer caused tumors in her brain and she is scheduled to undergo surgery and radiation, but hopes to be back on the air soon, reports Robert Feder. Reed is currently on medical leave from her radio station, but she is remaining positive:
“ 'I know it’s going to take me a while to recover, and I don’t know how long that’s going to be,' she added. 'But I miss everybody and can’t wait to be back on the air.' ”
More information on taking a medical leave of absence can be found here.
