ESPN UK recently reported on snooker champion Ali Carter's winning of the General Cup weeks after finishing chemotherapy for lung cancer. Carter called the win "the biggest of my career". Carter explained what this journey has been like for him in the article, saying:
" 'Six weeks ago I was attached to a machine giving me chemo drugs and didn't have a hair on me. No eyebrows, nothing on my head. Now my phone is ringing off the hook with goodwill messages. It's a fairytale. It's the biggest win of my career. I have won more money and this was an invitational tournament with no ranking points but it means so much.' "
