Sandy Shrimplin works as a registered nurse at Coshocton Hospital, despite her ongoing battle with breast cancer, writes the Cochocton Tribune. She continues to work because "helping others makes her feel good" and she has had great support from her coworkers.
"Despite the ups and downs of the disease, Shrimplin said she wanted to continue nursing because helping others makes her feel good. Getting up and going to work also gives her a reason to get motivated each day. 'I have a purpose in life,' she said. With the support of her co-workers, Shrimplin has been able to work around her chemo treatments and adjust her usual 12-hour days to eight. Her co-workers have donated vacation and sick time to her."
