Invasive Ductal Carcinona Stage 2

Type and Description of Treatments:
6 months of Chemo, 6 months of harvesting, Double Mastectomy (no reconstruction), 36 treatments of radiation, 5 yrs. Of tamoxifen
How do you feel today?
Good
What is going well for you right now?
I beat cancer and I get to be with my son
What is not going well for you right now?
The change of people in my life
What has been the most challenging thing about having cancer?
Just my memory, anxiety
When difficulties overwhelm you, where do you go for support?
Breast Cancer support group, church, god, faith and prayers.
How have your long-term goals or life goals changed since diagnosis?
I was a hair dresser, going to collage to switch carriers, was in between jobs to renew my cosmetology license, at this point, having to start all over
What is your work arrangement right now? What are your hours?
Single mother, I just got done with everything, it's a whole new beginning and a lot if open opportunities. Where to start. A job lol
Since the diagnosis, what has changed in your work life?
A lot, I was in between jobs when I was diagnosed, I had to take a yr off, now I'm ready to spread my wings
What has helped you continue to work the most?
Everything is the same , just continuing life
What advice do you have for others trying to work through treatment?
Have faith that no matter what, everything will be Ok, I got closer to god, talking to him and lots of prayers works, find the support group for you, and people for you, live everyday with no regrets
How have you dealt with any side effects of treatment?
None, I couldn't believe I was a cancer patient, I only had a little fatigue, and memory isn't the same
If "today's you" could give advice to "day-of-diagnosis you," what would you say?
Stay close to god, talk to him, no matter what happens, he is there, trust me
