Job Search
I have obtained a first class BSc in biomedical science and have recently finished an MSc in Cancer and clinical oncology. I have a deep interest in cancer biology and currently have a wide understanding of the field. However, I feel like there is no career that is suitable to me. I would like a challenging position that would not have tedious day-to-day schedule i.e. basic laboratory work. At the same time I never went through the MD Oncology route as I wouldn't appreciate the excessive demand, physical and emotional, of treating patients directly. Therefore I have searched everywhere for a job that can allow to apply what I have learnt in a way that I may contribute to the field. I was hoping to get some advise of some job titles that I may not be aware of that suit this brief description.

Cancer and Careers Staff Comment:
Hi Miguel,
Thanks for writing to us. It sounds like you have an incredible breadth of knowledge to contribute to the oncology field, but unfortunately we don't have resources for people looking for oncology jobs. Our organization provides programs, services and information to help cancer patients and survivors navigate the practical and legal challenges that follow a diagnosis. I would recommend checking out the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Career Center for more information/resources (https://careercenter.asco.org/). It might also be helpful to reach out to staff at your alma mater’s Career Center (or even faculty) to discuss potential directions/positions that would be a good fit for you.
Best of luck,
