Workplace Politics
I was let go from my job 6 months after being diagnosed with cancer. I also have been managing Multiple Sclerosis for 25 years. I was not able to focus completely on my job as I was going through radiation I am still not 100% as I developed painful rash on my arm one week before radiation ended. I still am dealing with the rash. We got a new HR person and all of a sudden I get this 5 page write up with a myriad of issues that I have no idea about. Nine days later the let me go.
I am scared and confuse.

Hi Paula,
Thank you for writing in, I am sorry to hear about your challenges at work. Can you tell us a little more about what you are looking for? Would you like guidance on finding a new job? Are you looking for legal advice regarding your previous employment?
Thanks,
Kelsey, Associate Manager of Programs, Cancer and Careers

Thanks Kelsey. I am planning to file EEOC complaint but I would like assistance/advice if other options are available to me. Right now, legaloptions are what I am looking for.

Thanks, Paula, for clarifying. For legal guidance I would recommend reaching out to the National Cancer Legal Services Network (www.nclsn.org), they offer free legal services for people affected by cancer. Good luck, and let us know if there is any other way we can be of assistance!
Best,
Kelsey, Associate Manager of Programs, Cancer and Careers
