My son, Chase, is 2 years old and was diagnosed with Leukemia in July 2015. Right after his diagnosis, I had to leave my job because I need to be home in order to properly care for him as he is going through active chemotherapy and cannot go to daycare or be out in public and around crowds. Also, at any given time, he may spike a fever and have to go back and be readmitted into the hospital. I have been trying to find a flexible, part-time job for myself that would allow me to make some money to help cover our bills (The hospital helps with rent, but I also have to pay for electricity, water, etc). We have had friends who have started fundraiser pages and things like that, which have helped us tremendously thus far; however, in all reality, that money will and has not lasted, and even though there may be more fundraisers in the future, I still have to make sure that our other bills are taken care of. My parents do help cover those things for now, but I would like to help relieve them of having to do so. I am a single mother, so I am his primary caregiver. It seems to me that this site is for patients who have cancer and are looking for jobs, but in my case, it is my toddler who has cancer. Please, if you know of anything that would be something I can look into, let me know, Thank you!!!
