I don't have life insurance. I was diagnosed pretty young and never considered myself in the situation I am in now with metastatic cancer. That said, coverage seems out of reach. Is term life even worth it? Are there other options?

Hello Susan,
Thank you so much for reaching out to Cancer and Careers. While we do offer some basic information on insurance (you can find articles discussing insurance in the Legal & Financial section of our website), I would recommend you speak with someone who is well-versed on the topic as I know it can be complex to navigate and it's best to receive guidance from those who specialize in it. WIth that said I would recommend exploring the resources on the Triage Cancer (www.triagecancer.org) website as they have very helpful guides that breakdown health insurance policies and options.
If you are currently employed, it could be worth exploring the benefits offered by your company as there may be some plans that you qualify for and can enroll in.
I hope you are able to find the infromaiton and guidance you're looking for. If you have any additional questions, or would like any additional resources, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at cancerandcareers@cew.org.
Warm regards,
