Workplace Politics
I am unemployed, 58 and will have surgery soon. It might be a little early to start thinking about going back to work but I am wondering what the law is about an employer giving time off for reconstruction. I am going to have a delayed reconstruction after my treatment and feel strong again.

Hi Gayle,
Thanks for reaching out. You might have some legal protection in terms of getting time off for reconstruction, but I actually want to refer you to some organizations who more specifically deal with the nuances of the law. These resources are below:
Cancer
Legal Resource Center. http://www.cancerlegalresourcecenter.org.
866-843-2572. clrc@lls.edu. This is a great free resource to call or
email to get personalized info. National organization.
National
Cancer Legal Services Network.
http://www.nclsn.org/. This comprehensive website has a service
directory so that you can find legal assistance near you locally.
I hope this
helps and let us know how it goes!
Best,
Alice
