Job Search
on November 18, 2009 I was diagnose with breast cancer. My cancer was stage 3, Lymph node involvement, chemo for the last 9 months. I am toward the end of my chemo treatment; my hair is growing back now. I am presently looking for work; I not sure if I'm ready because I have chemo brain but I need to find a job. My finances is slowly disappearing; I thank God everyday that I got disability check during my treatment before I was fire from my job. Trying to explain why I was fire is difficult. I am very nervous about returning back to work as an Accountant. My type of work is very stressful and attention to detail is a must. I had a few interviews that went well but because of being out of work for over 9 monthes made the employers nervous and I was not hire. I am having issue with explain why I was fire and why I haven't been working. I was given test on a job that I once knew like the back of my hand. My chemo brain and the stress of finding a job has made me very forgetful. Any suggestion please help me! Breast Cancer Friend in need of a Job.
Sincerely,
Angie

I can give you this piece of advice...Contrary to popular belief among most job hunters, a job search through the holiday seasons isn't a waste of time. In fact, with much business activity slowing down, the holidays could possibly be the best time to intensify one's career research. Hiring managers are working with fewer applications and people committed to finding employment through the holiday seasons look all the more impressive. Stop living off of personal loans because you know you will have to have a job to pay them off.
