Can you please tell me if you recommend including months on a resume or only years for someone who has only been working for less than 3 years?
Thank you.

Hi Danielle,
Typically you would only give years but if you have had multiple and sequential jobs in a year, it makes sense to me that you would list them by years, particularly with a short work history. I asked a few of my colleagues and they agreed.

I generally advise my clients not to include months, particularly if there is a gap between jobs.
You may need to include months if you worked two places in the same year or you worked two jobs. At the same time. Most recruiters do not care about that detail. It is important, however, that there is no obvious gap in employment history on your resume. You may be asked to identify gaps in employment at the interview.
