Career Management
I teach K-12 computer science and will continue as long as my cancer symptoms are manageable. However, to be vested in Florida and receive my retirement within the next 3years I need to complete 1.5 more years (full or part-time) in a job that pays into the Florida Retirement fund. I live in Colorado, work as a full time teacher and am caregiver to my retired and disabled husband. Who can I contact for employment.

Hi Maria,
Thank you for reaching out to Cancer and Careers. I don't have a specific answer for you, but I would imagine that exploring job postings that advertise as being remote but based in Florida might be a good start. If you still have any contacts in the Florida school system, perhaps they could point you in the direction of openings, or at they may be able to provide you with resources that post such listings. Looking at listings on Idealist, Indeed, and LinkedIn could help you to filter out to your specific needs. Additionally, perhaps you could get in touch with the Florida Retirement fund to get a list of what organizations, schools, and companies pay into it and then start a search from there?
Hope that helps!
Best,
