Workplace Politics
I feel harassed and discriminated by my company management due to my health issues due to breast cancer. Can I sue the company? The director of Hr department and my Director are very good friends and I don't have no where to go about it. I am very stressed out because I feel they are trying to sabotage my job to get fired and I cant loose my medical insurance. Please help!!!

Cancer and Careers Staff Comment:
Hi Celia,
Thank you for sharing this question with us. I’m sorry to hear you’re facing such a challenging situation at work while also managing your diagnosis.
Cancer and Careers can’t provide legal advice, so our immediate recommendation is to reach out to a legal organization to speak with them about the specifics of your situation so they can help you figure out what your options are. A good place to start is the National Cancer Legal Services Network – which provides listings of pro-bono legal services by state. You can find more information at http://www.nclsn.org/.
More information can be found at http://www.nclsn.org/. You might also want to check out http://apps.americanbar.org/legalservices/lris/directory and www.lawhelp.org
The following resources might be useful as well:
I hope this is helpful. You can also reach us at cancerandcareers@cew.org or 646-929-8032 if you have any additional questions.
Warmly,
Rachel Becker, LMSW
