I had an interview at a pharmaceutical company that I believe random drug tests. I have a prescription for dronabinol and I stopped using it so I can pass the initial screening but I don’t know if I should disclose this to my employer. I think it helps me. I want to go back to using it when I am in the door.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for reaching out to Cancer and Careers. This is a bit outside of our wheelhouse, as I'm not familiar with that drug and I'm not a medical professional, so I am not sure what the parameters may be for usage in a work setting.
I'd recommend speaking with your healthcare provider about what potential impact it could have on your ability to work, etc. If you think it could have some sort of influence on whether your employer would be okay with you in this position while on the medication, it might be good to disclose, as you wouldnt want the potential of it showing up as a surprise on a random drug test.
Triage Cancer has a Quick Guide to Medical Marijuana that may be helpful, as well as Medical Marijuna: A Guide to Navigating Employment. If you have more specific questions or you would like to speak with someone at Triage cancer you can request that here.
Sincerely,
