Career Change,
Job Search,
Work/Life/Cancer Balance
Hello,
I am 28 years old and was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma less than a year ago. After multiple surgeries, rod insertion in my femur bone, chemo and radiation therapy I am finally on my way to recovery. I am currently on disability, but due to return in a few weeks to a job that I find incredibly unsatisfying and unhealthy to my recovery as it is an incredibly taxing environment. I know what interests me and would like to pursue those aspirations further, but due to practical reasons I feel tied and stuck to my current job. I am happy to discuss things in further detail with a career coach to hopefully come up with a solution.
I look forward to hearing back from someone.
Thank you and best regards,
Carol Atalla

Career Coach Comment:
Carol –
You have been through so much and as a result your priorities are much clearer. You have a right to select the lifestyle you want and to decide what you want in your life, as well as, what you don’t want in your life.
As a cancer survivor, it’s natural to want to change your lifestyle, to reduce stress and to manage your energy. By all means, follow your heart, your desires and adjust your career and job to suit the person that you have become. Don’t settle. Don’t feel trapped. Don’t feel guilty. These are wasted emotions. Life is precious.
