“I’m two months out of chemo, I don’t know my own body anymore, and everything in my life right now is stressful. So looking for a career change has gotten kicked to the back burner. Before the National Conference, I barely knew where to start. I am so grateful to Cancer and Careers. I came through the door hoping I’d be able to get at least something out of [the event] and I’m leaving with a wealth of knowledge. Thank you for that. This whole program is so wonderful.” — 2019 National Conference Attendee
This is where you come in.
After giving thanks on Thursday and shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it’s time to emphasize the spirit of giving back to what really matters. #GivingTuesday is more than just an inspiring movement — it’s a way for people and organizations all over the world to make a huge impact.
For Cancer and Careers, #GivingTuesday means reaching a much larger audience than ever before. With new donors, we are spreading the word about Cancer and Careers to people who have never heard of us. With new donations, we will be able to fund more of our programs and services — guaranteeing that they stay free — while helping patients and survivors make what seemed impossible, possible.
Last year, our Young Professionals Committee hosted its first-ever Giving Tuesday Happy Hour, where 100% of the proceeds went directly to Cancer and Careers. More than 120 people came out to support us and helped raise over $3,500. The turnout was incredible.
This year, we are hoping to surpass that and break $4,000 on Giving Tuesday. Your support will ensure that every individual who needs us can thrive, thanks to our free programs and resources. Not only does this event provide an opportunity to contribute that support, but it brings people together and gives them a chance to invest in someone or something other than themselves.
To help us reach our goal, you can visit our donation page, attend our Young Professionals Giving Tuesday Happy Hour in NYC, and/or share our story with your friends, colleagues and family. Your help is important, and by supporting Cancer and Careers on Giving Tuesday and throughout the holiday season, you are helping survivors stay on the job — and own their future. At CAC, that’s the most important part of our work.
Join us in this movement. Give back and help cancer patients and survivors be the BOSS over cancer!
