In honor of National Young Adult Cancer Awareness Week, we would like to spotlight some of our amazing community partners that are making a difference in the lives of young adult survivors — not just this week, but each and every day!
Here’s a look at what some of our partner organizations are doing:
The SamFund provides relief and support to young adult cancer survivors who are struggling financially, through direct financial assistance and free online support and education. Twice a year, The SamFund awards grants to young adult survivors to help with medical bills, living expenses and much more.
Hope for Young Adults with Cancer provides direct financial support to young adults through its “Giving Hope Fund”; organizes special events to provide them with a social network and outlet; customizes resource navigation and support information; and creates awareness for this underserved and overlooked age group.
Young Survival Coalition is the premier organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. YSC offers resources, connections, and outreach so women feel supported, empowered and hopeful.
The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults has been changing lives since 1996, by creating a community of support for young adults and their loved ones. Through various programs and resources, Ulman helps young adults foster support communities across the country, fight cancer, and embrace survivorship.
We are so grateful for all the work these vital organizations do for our young adult population, as well as for their continued support of Cancer and Careers!
Don’t forget to stop by our Community Partners table at our National Conference on Work & Cancer on June 17th, to read materials, grab resources, and meet representatives from even more cancer community organizations!
