Cancer and Careers recently held our first in-service program at CancerCare with a wonderful group of attendees. This new program is designed for healthcare professionals wanting to get in-depth information on how they can assist their patients in balancing work and cancer.
The full day event, presented by our very own VP of Programs and Strategy Rebecca Nellis and the always informative Joanna Morales, Esq., CEO of Navigating Cancer Survivorship, focused on a variety of legal and practical subjects. These included, but were not limited to, disclosure, modifying work spaces, and the intricacies around health care reform. Additionally, there were some interactive activities where attendees were able to stage mock interviews and fill out medical certification charts in order to learn more about survivorship issues.
We had a great time, and are already looking forward to the next in-service in Los Angeles on Jan. 25th! For more info on CAC in-services, please feel free to reach out to cancerandcareers@cew.org.
