Our two newest articles address one of the biggest hurdles that all job searchers face: interviews. Interviews are the part of the job search process that usually creates the most anxiety for people, especially if it's been awhile since your last one. With that in mind we worked with one of our career coaches, Julie Jansen, to create a guide to practicing for your interviews called Mock Interviews and a sheet on Interviewing Methods and Tips to help you navigate the whole process.
The Mock Interviews guide lays out specific directions for the mock interviewer and the mock interviewee, as well as an extensive list of practice questions, such as:
- Why should we hire you?
- How do you organize and plan for major projects?
- Why did you leave your last job?
- What have you done that shows initiative?
The Interviewing Methods and Tips sheet gives you a rundown of the best strategies that you can use to ensure that you are fully prepared for each step of the interview. From questions to ask during the interview to the thank-you note afterwards, this sheet covers the various parts of the process.
Downloadable copies of both the Mock Interview guide and the Interviewing Methods and Tips worksheet are available on each webpage. We hope you find them helpful!
