The Travel Scholarship Program for our National Conference has become one of our most gratifying programs here at Cancer and Careers, as it allows us to get to know you and your work story. The scholarships provide the opportunity for those cancer survivors who most need our resources to experience a full day of information, encouragement and networking with peers who are also working through it.
Over the past four years, we have awarded $87,714 in travel grants to 141 scholarship recipients from 35 states!
We are excited to announce that applications for travel scholarships to attend our 2016 National Conference on Work & Cancer are now being accepted! Click here to apply today! The deadline to submit an application is April 15, 2016.
This year’s conference will be held Friday, June 17, at the CUNY Graduate Center, in New York City. If you live in the area and are interested in attending, click here to learn more and register.
An attendee of last year’s event had this to say about her experience:
“I was overwhelmed by the support and information offered [at the National Conference on Work & Cancer]. I cannot thank you enough. I told my husband when I got home, ‘Now I don’t feel like such a freak.’ I know that sounds harsh, but when you are alone dealing with this, people really cannot relate. Every group that I ever tried to attend was so negative and depressing I just couldn’t continue. I found this forum to be so uplifting and supportive.”
