Hi all! My name is Rachel Becker, and I’m delighted to be the new Senior Manager of Programs at Cancer and Careers. There’s a saying among those of us who do cancer related work that surviving and thriving during and after cancer treatment “takes a village.” Cancer and Careers plays a unique and vital role within the cancer support “village” and I couldn’t be more excited about joining the dynamic team bringing the mission to life.
During my first week in the office, I’ve been struck time-and-again by the level of intelligence, compassion, and drive that every member of the team has. It’s a group that takes great pride in the work that they do; the work of empowering others to continue working with pride. I’m incredibly excited to have the opportunity to work with them as we continue providing and building out C+C’s already robust programs.
So whether you’re living with cancer yourself, the family or friend of someone who is, or a healthcare professional, thank you for letting us be part of your “village.”
And if you’re in-or-around NYC next Friday, June 13, 2014 why not head over to our National Conference on Work & Cancer, and say ‘hello’ in person? There’s still time to register, and it’s free to attend. Click here for more details!
