Hi! My name is Nikki Zelin and I am so excited to be working at Cancer and Careers as the new Development Coordinator.
Before joining the CAC team, I worked at the American Thoracic Society Foundation, where I provided administrative support for all the foundation’s work. I assisted with event logistics and worked with the Director of Development on donor-related projects and major gifts.
In May 2016, I graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in child and family studies, with a concentration on child life. During my time at SU, I interned with the Upstate Medical Foundation and assisted the Director of Development and Community Relations with fundraising campaigns, which sparked my passion for fundraising. Post-grad, I worked at UJA-Federation of New York in the missions’ department, where I assisted with the planning and execution of trips for donors to show the impact of UJA’s work around the world.
I am eager to utilize my previous experience in both development and event support to help CAC expand its mission! As Development Coordinator, I will be supporting the development team in all aspects of fundraising, special events and board relations, while also managing the Young Professionals Committee.
When I am not working, I am still fundraising for the cancer community, whether it be for Cycle for Survival or Kids Walk! You can also find me on my couch watching “Frozen” – my favorite movie of all time!
