¡Hola! My name is Tatiana Pacheco Parés, and I am excited to join Cancer and Careers as the new Bilingual Social Worker. I am a licensed social worker in New York and Puerto Rico, and I have experience working in nonprofit organizations and experiential education.
I’m currently based in my home, Puerto Rico, after traveling for extended periods of time, both for work and pleasure, and living in New York City for 6 years. I earned a B.A in Psychology at New York University and a M.S.W degree at Columbia University. Prior to Cancer and Careers, I worked remotely as a Program Manager for a national advocacy organization supporting individuals and families in the bleeding disorders community, and I’ve also worked on and off in the student traveling industry in different roles.
I’m grateful to have the opportunity to continue supporting individuals with chronic conditions in my new role at CAC. As a Social Worker, I’m looking forward to supporting individuals in the cancer community as they navigate a cancer diagnosis and the workplace. I will be providing guidance and referrals to English- and Spanish- speaking constituents who reach out to CAC and supporting our programs. I’m particularly excited to work on the expansion of our Spanish language offerings.
I’m working part-time with CAC, and I’m excited to spend the rest of my time traveling and starting a farm! I also love adventures, adrenaline activities and to explore the outdoors.
