We’re midway through our Pregunte a los Expertos series, and it’s been amazing seeing our Hispanic and Latine community come together for this event! In the past two weeks, we’ve had the pleasure of sitting down with oncologist Dr. Victoria Blinder, and HR Manager Edwin Gonzalez, HR to talk about working after a cancer diagnosis through their professional lens. We’re excited to continue the conversation tomorrow Tuesday, October 3rd.
Isabella Ferrari, MCN, CSO, RDN, LDN, will be joining us to discuss strategies for eating well at work and beyond. Isabella is a bilingual registered Dietitian born in Venezuela. She graduated with a master’s degree in clinical nutrition from University of Texas Southwestern in 2018 and obtained her Oncology Nutrition Specialization in 2021. As an Oncology Dietician, Isabella serves the Spanish speaking population at Doherty Nutrition in Dallas.
To help you get better acquainted with Isabella, her background and expertise, we had the opportunity to ask her some questions ahead of his session.
Q: How did you get into your field?
Isabella: I was always good at science in school and had a passion for helping people. I loved how nutrition plays a huge role in prevention, treatment and recovery of a lot of diseases and really enjoy the education and empowering part of nutrition counseling!
Q: What is one thing you wish more people knew about?
Isabella: There is no universal right or wrong answer when it comes to nutrition. Everything about it is personalized and individualized.
Q: How are you supporting the latine community?
Isabella: I practice in a very niche space – Spanish oncology dietitian, there not a lot of us out there! So I am always trying to get involved in volunteering or in anything that can help empower the Hispanic community to take charge of their health.
