Greetings! My name is Nicole Franklin and I am Cancer and Careers’ new Manager of Programs. Four months ago, I returned to New York after spending a year working in Uganda for an international humanitarian aid organization. While I was there, I worked with the programs team to develop and implement various health and livelihoods programs for vulnerable communities.
As a public health professional, I am continuously dedicated to improving the health and well-being of all people, which is why I am so excited to work for Cancer and Careers. CAC’s mission to educate and empower survivors and healthcare professionals to address issues around work and cancer is important and impactful.
In my role, I will be overseeing our Underserved Regions Initiative and our online career coaching center. Ask a Career Coach allows cancer survivors to ask specific job-related questions and receive practical advice from our experienced career coaches. I will also be coordinating our annual Midwest Conference on Work & Cancer, which is taking place on March 31, 2017, in Chicago. To learn more and to register, click here. In addition, I am looking forward to managing our social media platforms (don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and supporting our PR initiatives.
When I am not plotting ways to make the world a better place, you can find me globe-trekking, enjoying delicious food, spending time with my nearest and dearest and scoping out new shows on Netflix!
