Did you miss our job search teleconference in December? Do you want great tips from Julie Jansen, Expert Career Coach and Author, on the tools and tricks cancer survivors may need as they conduct a job search? Well, just in case you couldn't be with us in December, here are some important things we learned from Julie:
- Resumes should only be two pages, with 80% of the content being work accomplishments.
- Only 3-5% of job seekers find employment on job boards, vs. 70-80% who find success by networking. Network, network, network!
- If you haven't already, sign up for LinkedIn. Also, make sure your profile is compelling by asking for strategic and substantive recommendations. (Check out our LinkedIn guide here: http://www.cancerandcareers.org/en/looking-for-work/guide-to-linkedin)
