After three years as the Development Coordinator and later the Development Manager, I am leaving Cancer and Careers to attend NYU Law School. Three years is such a long time, but I find myself saying three short years.
Since I joined in 2010, this organization has expanded our base of supporters - including our incredibly successful Beauty with Benefits promotion with QVC - and we’ve introduced new programs like the National Conference on Work & Cancer, Ask the Experts, and a Resume Review service. The most defining of these achievements was sending 41 travel scholarship recipients to our National Conference this past June, when survivors and healthcare professionals from across the country came to NYC for a day of empowering information on the issues of work and cancer. That is definitely something to be proud of.
With our talented staff, dedicated supporters, and these wonderful achievements, I can’t help but feel like I'm leaving at an exciting period of growth for the organization. And although I’m jumping into what will be an exciting and challenging step in my career, I’m leaving confident in the impact Cancer and Careers continues to have and the experiences that will define my career and future success.
And a special thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way.
