We’re just days away from our 6th annual National Conference on Work & Cancer. And while some of the key elements of this event remain the same as in past years — for example, the location (NYC), the format (morning plenary sessions; afternoon breakouts), expert speakers delivering important, useful information for patients and survivors facing challenges related to the intersection of their diagnosis and their job — there are some new things in store.
In addition to setting a new record for registration this year, we are thrilled to be introducing brand-new speakers and topics, as well as a new option for networking during lunch.
As always, we’ll cover Cancer and Careers’ core content — that is, legal and practical considerations for someone balancing treatment/recovery and employment, including working through treatment, health insurance, finances, disclosure and job-hunting. And recent blog posts have highlighted the new sessions on this year’s agenda.
Yet we’re also excited to have speakers from our 2014 Conference return to offer updated presentations on popular topics such as how to manage stress during treatment and beyond, and ways that occupational therapy and vocational rehabilitation can improve your work ability.
For those of you who will be at the Conference on Friday, we can’t wait to see you!
For those who are unable to make it, we hope you’ll join us at another in-person event — maybe at our West Coast Conference, in Los Angeles this fall — or for one of our online webinars.
Either way, connect with us and let us know how you’re doing and how we can help. That’s what we’re here for.
