As one of our many great community partners, today we spotlight MyLifeLine.org and the great resources they offer to cancer patients and survivors.
"MyLifeLine.org was such a blessing during my cancer journey! I was able to gain the emotional support I needed to continue with the treatment process, and I felt connected with my friends and family along the way."
- Kimberly, diagnosed at age 31
MyLifeLine.org was started by ovarian cancer survivor Marcia Donziger in 2007. When she was diagnosed in 1997, she was overwhelmed by the volume of concern, during a time when she was struggling to fight the cancer inside her. She couldn’t physically return all the phone calls herself, and found it emotionally draining to repeat the same information about her condition, over and over.
Thanks to some inspiration from a fellow survivor, Marcia saw the tremendous benefit for cancer patients to communicate via a personal website. And so MyLifeLine.org was born.
MyLifeLine.org is the only organization offering free personal websites just for cancer survivors. The features include the Helping Calendar where you can post your needs for babysitting, transportation, etc., Member Updates where you can share your latest news with your community, and Giving Angels where you can donate money to a friend or family member having financial troubles do to their cancer.
All in all, it is a great way to stay in touch in a safe, secure manner. To learn more, visit www.mylifeline.org.
