It's been a busy and exciting end to the year at Cancer and Careers! In November we were featured in several articles, as well as a prominent news spot on NBC.
Our VP of Programs and Strategy, Rebecca Nellis, was interviewed on NBC News 4 New York about a stakeholder summit that we spoke at at the end of November, aimed at helping breast cancer survivors and those who find themselves dealing with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Rebecca spoke about and the challenges that survivors face balancing work and a diagnosis. At the summit our Manager of Programs, Eva LaManna, spoke to metastatic breast cancer survivors and their advocates about how to manage a diagnosis at work, and was quoted in an article covering the summit in Newsday Long Island.
Additionally, the Puget Sound Business Journal out of Seattle, just wrapped up a series on work and cancer and interviewed Rebecca for a piece on working survivors at the end of November. The article follows the journey of a breast cancer survivor and the impact that her diagnosis and treatment had on her work life.
