For patients and survivors, we often recommend work-from-home jobs, as they can make it easier to balance employment and cancer treatment/side effects. There are lots of opportunities to be found on online job boards, but how can you be sure that the job posting you’re looking at is legitimate?

Below is a list from FlexJobs.com of some possible red flags. The full list can be found here.

• Branding scams: Copying a company’s logo to trick you into thinking it’s a real job opportunity
• Paying for a job: A legitimate job will never ask you to pay a start-up/hire fee
• Fake URLs
• No verifiable information
• Large salary and no work
