It’s hard to believe that our 6th annual Midwest Conference on Work & Cancer was last month! We’re still reflecting on what an amazing day it was — from all the incredible people we met to the informative conversations we had on navigating employment following a cancer diagnosis. To say that it was an impactful and memorable event, with more than 150 patients, survivors, healthcare providers, HR professionals and caregivers in attendance, would be an understatement.
Along with our content partner, Triage Cancer, we provided expert advice and information on the key practical and legal issues affecting working people with cancer. The day was filled with important discussions on disclosure in the workplace, working through treatment, taking time off, returning to work, the job-search process, health insurance and much more.
If you live in the Chicago area but were unable to attend this year’s event, not to worry — we’ll be back next year; so keep your eye out for the 2020 date!
In the meantime, we have two upcoming conferences:
- Our National Conference on Work & Cancer, which is just around the corner (on Friday, June 21st). Register now to join us in New York City for our largest and longest-running event!
- And our 5th annual West Coast Conference on Work & Cancer, in Los Angeles, on Saturday, October 26th. Click here to register or apply for a travel scholarship if you live in that part of the country.
The Midwest Conference would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Also, a huge thanks goes to our Community Partners for spreading the word!
