Third Party Fund Raising Events

Cancer and Careers was thrilled to be the beneficiary of PinkFest, an annual event dedicated to raising awareness of breast and other women's cancers, and to raising funds to help women as they face the challenges of fighting the disease.

PinkFest 2009 was part of Hard Rock's Pinktober season and took place on October 21, 2009. There were three star performers -- returning headliner Joe D'Urso and Stone Caravan, The Vowels, and Christine Martucci.

Visit www.pinkfestbenefit.com for more information.

PinkFest, Inc. extends its warmest thanks to its corporate sponsors:  Teva Phamaceuticals, Absolut Vodka, Jameson, Malibu, Magna Legal Services, Ringler Associates, Mound, Cotton, Wollan & Greengrass, EPS Settlements Group, and Adrienne D. Carry; as well as to major presenter The Hard Rock Cafe.

The SELF Workouts in the Park 2009 were transformative total-body experiences that brought SELF Magazine to life by offering exciting workouts, beauty consultations, fashion tips, nutritional advice, and tons of freebies.

SELF demonstrated the hottest new exercise trends at Workout in the Park, including: Latin Rhythms -- Latin-based dance moves for working out; Million Dollar Knockout -- boxing training targeted specifically for and taught by women; and Prana Power -- mixing Vinyasa and Kundalini for a yoga double-whammy.

Events occurred on April 25 (San Diego), May 9 (New York), and May 16 (Chicago).

Proceeds benefitted Fertile Hope, Cancer and Careers and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
